What is Triporg? When and where was it created?
Trip Organizer was created in 1999, as a result of the research work and prospective product design of the designer Jon Santacoloma (Ideilan Design) during his time at De Montfort University (DMU). It was a large-screen device which, when connected to the internet, searched the network to filter and give the user the precise information demanded.
But what problem was it trying to solve? A quite simple one - lack of time and the large amount of information and sources of information available. From Monday to Friday we were all very busy and did not have time, but we liked to get the most out of our leisure time and entertainment. "Trip Organizer" avoided you having to read and filter information from different sources, organise it, sift through it and sort it, in other words everything required to be useful. So, the first concept of Triporg (Trip Organizer) was to successfully give the information required to learn about cities as a response: maps, activities, the weather and the currency in use.
Don’t forget that we were in the age of Nokia, the Motorola Start Tac, PDAs, the first mobile phones with internet (slow and cumbersome). Smartphones had not yet come onto the market. In 2005, when the first smartphones appeared, the project focused on added value, technology and extracting the full potential from the web.
Finally, in 2011 the team was organised to carry out the project, working on an unrivalled solution and Triporg was founded. With a clear focus on product design and development, it sought to make a reality of what had been evolving for years. From 2011 to 2015, all of its efforts were devoted to getting the product ready and…. here we are; with web development and an APP available through APIs (Application Programming Ingerfaces) to make life easier.
The initial version of the logo reflects time, that great scarce resource that is always moving forward. In the form of a clock, it is a reference to our diaries, the part that controls our time, trying, above all, to save time on tasks that we can automate reliably and sensibly.
In 2012, the green was introduced, showing the project to be sustainable, saving paper, using renewable resources and showing that we care about the implications of our project on the environment. .
